This filler wire had been obtained to accomplish nuclear quality weldments in construction of a molten salt reactor. Filler wire for all experiments using the shielded-inertgas, consumable-electrode welding process failed to meet the weldability tests required for the shielded-inert-gas, tungsten-arc process. Experiments were conducted to compare, evaluate, and determine if the shielded-inert-gas consumable-electrode, short-circuit welding process would offer advantages over the shielded-inert-gas, tungsten-arc welding process in the welding fabrication of Hastelloy N (INOR-8) materials. ![]()
